Hello, my name is Alexandre. I've been here for seven years. I've done a lot of dancing, especially, and music too, more specifically the duduk, and I've also done some singing. I really like the family atmosphere here. What makes it unique compared to other schools is that we can play a lot of Armenian music.
My classmates and I are motivated to get up every day to dance, to touch people's hearts with our rich Armenian culture.
My name is Narek, I'm 17 years old, and I've been in the Ara group for three years now. I come to dance to preserve the customs of my homeland and proudly represent it.
Hello, I'm Anna, originally from Artsakh, and I teach at the academy. It's a great honor for me to work here. We have students of varying ages: 7, 18, and a 45-year-old student has also approached us to work together. We teach academic singing, breathing, and how to sing in tune and cleanly, and we can prepare students for conservatories.
Hello, my name is Marianna. I'm 23 years old. I'm a singer and pianist, a professional training student at Jazz Action Valence. I'm a piano teacher at the academy. The goal is to teach students piano and Armenian music, also by offering them other spheres of music by, for example, exploring composers other than Armenian ones.
There are students of all ages. It can start from 6 to 40 or even 50. Of course, we work differently with children and adults. The methodology is thus adapted to each student.
Hello, my name is Gayané. I've been going to dance since I was little. I love dance because it's a magical place that reminds us of Armenian culture, so we don't forget where our blood comes from. It's going really well, everyone laughs together, everyone gets along really well. The teachers are incredible, and so is my group, the Ara group. Between the boys and girls, everything goes really well, and everyone is a real family.
Hello, my name is Mané. I'm in the Ara group and I've been dancing for two and a half years. It's always been good in the group; there haven't been any problems, so that made us all want to dance. When we come, we're happy to come to class. I think it's important to come to dance because it helps preserve Armenian heritage and our culture.
Hello, my name is Anahit. I've been dancing for about 13 years, ever since I started school. I find that classes go very well. We learn a lot of things, which is important because we preserve our culture and it allows us to interact with young people our own age. We're very happy because we often perform at festivals, we're invited to several places, and it allows us to discover new things and new people, and to present our culture to those who don't know us.
Hello, my name is Céline. I've been dancing for over two years, and I find it incredible. I think it's very important as an Armenian to know how to dance our own dance. It allows us to preserve our roots.
At the end of the year, we often hold a gala, which goes very well. We present our dances to the public. We have galas all year long, and the biggest one is at the end of the year. It goes very well and it's incredible.
Hello, I'm Élisa. I've been dancing for almost a year and a half, and I really enjoy coming to dance classes because they're always times when we laugh, have fun, and love our Armenian dance. Throughout the year, we put on a big show, and at the end, a big gala. The shows go very well; we always get along well, and we always have fond memories of them. And I'd like to continue dancing for a long time so I can present our dance to everyone.
Hello, my name is Louna, I'm 14 years old. I've been dancing for 10 years now, since I was 4. It's very important because we maintain our Armenian roots. It's also a hobby. Every year we hold galas featuring a few dances throughout the year, and at the end of the year we perform all the dances we've learned over the past year, and so on.
