Several hands in a row holding candles, Armenian traditions

Founded in 2007 by Levon Chatikyan, the France-Ashtarak-Armenia Association aims to create a cultural bridge between Armenia and France through collaboration and artistic exchange. The association plays a vital role in preserving and promoting Armenian culture, while fostering mutual understanding and cooperation within a multicultural framework.

In this context, the association has launched important cultural initiatives over the years:

  • 2007: Creation of the France-Ashtarak-Armenia Association
    • The creation of France Varpets in 2007, a project focused on cultural collaboration.
    • The establishment of the Armenian Traditional Music and Dance Academy in 2011, a key institution dedicated to preserving and sharing Armenian musical and dance traditions.
  • 2014: Tripartite Contract for Cultural Cooperation

An important milestone was reached with the signing of a tripartite contract between the Tchaikovsky Music School of Yerevan, the Association France-Ashtarak-Armenia and the Valence Romans Agglo Departmental Conservatory in France. • 2015: First Exchange Program and Festival

The association organized its first cultural exchange program and festival, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. This event marked a moving commemoration of Armenian history, while highlighting the strength of Armenian cultural identity in France.
